“Our Council believes that education is both an individual right and a public responsibility.”

The MRLC provides literacy training through a number of programs in addition to the one-to-one tutoring program.  The following is a list of learning opportunities that the MRLC provides:

  • Adult and youth one-to-one tutoring programs
  • English as a Second Language training
  • Peer Youth tutoring program in high schools
  • Family literacy training for parents and care givers
  • Individualized tutoring for children in public schools
  • Story Time with the Moncton Boys’ and Girls’ Club
  • Student Support Group
  • Literacy events in the community

Programs and learning materials are personalized to fit each individual’s learning style and availability. The learners and volunteer tutors meet regularly at locations mutually convenient for each pair.
